Chaturbate is one of the largest cam sites out there.
With thousands of live models and millions of horny viewers, it’s no wonder that this site is fast becoming the most popular cam site that exists.
And while there are plenty of other cam sites that you can watch at your leisure, I was intrigued about what sets this site apart from the rest.
With great user reviews and so many people working on the site, I decided to dip my toe in the water and take a peek.
It’s a hard job, but someone has to do it!
In this Chaturbate review, I’ll take you through the pros and cons and give my view on whether the site is all it’s cracked up to be.

With a large site like Chaturbate, you could either be impressed or left wanting. But in this instance, quantity does not mean that quality is missing.
I was definitely impressed.
Not only is it easy to use the site, but you can hands-down watch the public shows completely free. Of course, the models are performing to make money, so you should really throw them a tip, but if you don’t want to, the site isn’t going to kick you out.
Of course, it’s not perfect, but I think it comes very close.
When I think of cam sites, I think of my own personal world of live porn. We’ve certainly become more accustomed to finding what we want online in recent years.
Having that personal sexual connection, without the hassle of having to find someone in real life, can be a game-changer.
So when I was asked to pen this Chaturbate review, I jumped at the chance. I wanted to see what all of the fuss was about with this site.
Before I actually started to look around the site, I decided to sign up for an account. Chaturbate prides itself on an easy sign-up process, and it absolutely should. This was one of the easiest sites to get started on.
I simply had to pick a username and a password, fill in my email address and birth date, and state what gender I was.
One thing that surprised me, though, was that I didn’t actually have to create an account if I didn’t want to.
There is no paywall here.
If you don’t want to sign-up, you can still browse the site and watch the public cam shows without any problem at all. You only actually have to do this if you want to tip, go private, or broadcast yourself.
I liked that about this site.
No sign-up emails that other people in your family can find are a definite win in my book. However, because I did sign-up, I can tell you that it is very streamlined. It took no longer than a few minutes.
During the sign-up process, I was offered the opportunity to upgrade to a premium account for a reasonable price of $19.95 a month. This would allow me to send private messages, leave tips anonymously, choose custom chat options and color themes, and remove any ads.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t think this was worth it, so I chose not to upgrade.
After signing up, I was presented with a homepage full of cam shows to choose from. There were so many that it was obvious that I’d need to search for what I was into.
However, the interface of the homepage was very clean.
Pick who you want to watch on the cam (men, women, trans, or couples), and use a whole host of handy filters spread along the top of the thumbnails to help narrow things down.
There was also a search bar, which I navigated straight to.
However, after typing in “BBC” and “big cock” I was pretty disappointed. It brought up absolutely nothing. It turns out that the search tool doesn’t actually work for genres or categories.
It did, however, work if I entered a model’s name. Handy if you’ve been here before and know who you’re looking for, but not for very much else.
So I was left using the filter tags instead. There are plenty of them to choose from, and they do filter down to what you are looking for. However, you can only filter one thing at a time. I couldn’t select two different tag filters at once, which was a terrible shame.
Although it’s not the end of the world, it does mean that you’ll have to do some scrolling to find what you want, even after filtering down to your main keyword.
After a bit of browsing, I settled on a live cam to watch.
Once I clicked on the live cam, I wasn’t disappointed.
I could watch the live action without paying a cent, chat in the chat box on the right-hand side of the screen, tip if I wanted to, and even control the teledildonic toys that the model was using.
These are actually pretty smart—you can turn up the intensity of the toy based on the tip you are leaving. That means that you are playing an active role in your model’s sex show. It’s like getting involved in some pretty saucy partner play, but you don’t actually know them.
If you want to chat privately with the model, you can; just click on the PM tab on the right-hand side of the screen, and your message will go directly to the model without anybody else being able to see it. Of course, you will need to upgrade your membership to take advantage of this.
Although I liked the model, I was still exploring, so I opted not to take advantage of that particular feature.
Scrolling down the screen you can view the model’s bio and even purchase pictures and videos that they have uploaded onto the site. You’ll need to pay for these in tokens though, so decide whether you think they are worth it or not.
If you like their shows, the chances are you will like the uploaded content here.
You’ll also see a tab called “More Rooms Like This.” I liked this. Where the search tool lets the site down a little, this tab actually makes up for it.
Once the site has an idea of the type of cam shows you like, it presents other models and shows that are similar in this handy tab.
No more searching for me.
I have a type, and if Chaturbate.com is going to bring me the goods, I’m all for that.
The other handy feature of the site is the small screen showing the show that you are in. So no matter what else you are looking at on the page, you won’t miss any action.
While that’s not 100% unique to Chaturbate.com, it is a great extra. After all, you don’t want to miss the crucial action while you have been browsing the page, do you?
Now, obviously, Chaturbate.com doesn’t charge you to watch any of the public shows, and if you really don’t want to tip the models, you don’t have to.
However, remember that they are here trying to earn a living, so if you’re enjoying what you’re watching, dip your hand in your pocket and show them your appreciation. To tip on Chaturbate.com, you’ll need to buy some tokens.
The price is reasonable and definitely in line with other cam sites.
Tokens start at $10.99 for 100 and go up to $49.99 for 500 tokens. Depending on how often you use the site and if you want to buy any uploaded content will really depend on how many you should go for.
Obviously, the more you buy, the cheaper it becomes.
The other thing that I liked about the site was the payment options. You can use a credit card or PayPal, send a wire transfer, or even use cryptocurrency to pay for your tokens.
With so many different secure options, this site went straight to the top of my books.
The cam models on Chaturbate offer both public cam shows and private shows, although they do seem to prefer to put on public shows.
That is probably because they can earn more this way. Think about it—if 100 people are watching you, and each sends you 50 tokens, that’s a pretty good return rate for your time.
Of course, very often, the amount of tokens that a model is sent skyrockets. Some of them set shared goals so that viewers can club together to reach a larger total. This then unlocks a certain act that the model will do.
The model that I was watching had set a target of 1888 tokens to watch his “cum fountain.”
Others simply set out a list of acts that they will do in a tip menu.
If you do decide to go private and enjoy the model on a one-on-one basis, you will be charged per minute. This can get expensive, but it does mean you get the model’s undivided attention. Or at least, you think you have unless someone else opts to spy on the show.
That’s right; you can play with the spy cam feature.
Slightly annoying if you are the person paying for a private show but exhilarating if you are the person spying!
Chaturbate has some very clear benefits when you compare it to other cam sites. It’s an easy to use interface, and the lack of a paywall gives this a big boost in my view.
When you add to that the fact that you don’t even have to create an account to enjoy the shows, I think this site is a winner.
Like Chaturbate, LiveJasmin is one of the best-rated cam sites for viewers. It has thousands of models to choose from, including female, male, and trans.
Where it differs is the way it charges.
LiveJasmin is a premium cam site operating a pay-per-minute system to watch cam shows. And if you aren’t keeping an eye on the time, your budget will soon be wiped out.
Chaturbate obviously allows you to watch models for free without having to dip your hand in your pocket unless you choose to tip them. While we encourage you to tip, no one is going to grumble if you don’t.
LiveJasmin does provide a perk to new users, though. They’ll get 50% off their first private show. This makes it more affordable and gives you a taste of what the shows are like.
Both Chaturbate and Jerkmate are paywall free, meaning you can watch any of the public shows without having to pay a cent. If you choose to access a private show or to tip the models on either site, you will have to pay, though.
Where Chaturbate wins some extra brownie points is the fact that you don’t have to create an account to watch the shows. With Jerkmate you do, and you have to add a payment card, even if you don’t intend to use it.
You’ll find a wider choice of models on Chaturbate, but the search tool on Jerkmate gives this site the edge. Unlike Chaturbate, you can type in the sex genre that turns you on, and it will present you with all the models in that category.
On Chaturbate, you will have to rely on the filter tags to drill down to what you are looking for. While it does work, you will also have to do a bit of scrolling to find anything.

BongaCams is another freemium cam site, so much like Chaturbate, you can watch the shows for free if you want to.
You’ll find a lot more couples or girl-on-girl action on BongaCams, alongside the male and female cam shows. Don’t be surprised if you find up to four people in the same room—that is quite normal on this site.
Like Chaturbate, you can watch the shows without having to create an account. Where the site falls down against Chaturbate is the video quality. Chaturbate runs HD and 4k cam rooms, which enables you to see everything in the finest detail. BongaCams doesn’t yet.
